As a group, we have recently decided that our song, 'Corner', would go well with a music video that tells a story. Although this differs from the original song, 'skinny love' by Birdie, which inspired us, many other music videos have been succesful which tell a story for example, 'Your song' by Ellie Goulding and 'How to love' by Lil Wayne.
Our idea for the song involves two main characters, a male and a female.
To begin with, the video will start with the female walking alone in our picturesque environment, looking upset although no totally hysterical. Next, she will see the male approaching her and her mood will be lifted, becoming happier. We discover he is a romantic interest, explaining the change in her mood beginning off sad and then becoming happier as he arrives. This is because they appear to be joking and having fun, showing the girl is happy now they are together.
The next part of the music video will involve the female walking alone, approaching a cemetery and holding a bouquet of flowers carrying a distant look upon her face. She will walk into the cemetery to a grave stone, place the flowers down and then step back looking at the gravestone. After this, the male will appear placing his hand on the females shoulder, before fading out. This is when we realise the male has passed away, she now relies on the memories she has on him to keep her going.
A tear will roll down the girls cheek, then a montage will be shown highlighting all the memories and happy times the couple had once shared. This will emphasise the emotion of the music video and also the dependance the male and female had upon eachother. These memories will be shown whilst the music because a more positive mood.
The final shot, we have decided to show the female as happy as she remembers the memories her and the male shared and although she is still disheartened by the fact he is dead, her mood becomes happier when she remembers him.
We are hoping to acheive a high quality music video as we believe the stpry will be very emotive and fit in with the song we have chosen well.
