Controversy as a possibility in our music video

As a group, we have discussed the issue of including something controversial in our music video although have decided not to included any. This is because we all agreed that controversy may be a hard point to carry out and try to explain throughout our music video and reasonings. Also, it may become confusing and more work to try to analyse our video if it involves controversy. Therefore, we have chose to instead concentrate on creating a better quality video to attract viewers.

Some controversies we considered:

Molestation; Our song dicusses the negative effects of a perhaps traumatic effect, therefore it would be possible to include or attempt an unwanted sexual experience. However, we decided not to do this as it can be very offensive and difficult to portray and we do not wish to offend in our video.

Natural disasters; If we were to take our lyrics literally as mentioned earlier, we could include a natural disaster such as an earthquake 'when your world trembles and quakes'. Although we realised this would most probably be impossible to replicate as it would be highly unlikely that we'd catch a natural disaster on camera as they are normally unexpected and dangerous! Furthermore, in order to replicate a natural disaster it would be very expensive therefore we chose not to include this either.

Same-sex relationships; In today's world same-sex relationships are normally now considered as 'normal' although there is still high controversy around the issue as many people are prejudice about them. This may cause us to lose popularity with our music video as some people may not want to watch it or may critisise it. Furthermore, this issue may distract many, and ourselves, from the actual point of our music video and therefore make our overall quality and performance poor.
